The "Politehnica" institute from Timisoara made the football team Politehnica Timisoara. Between 4th of December 1921 and 13th of March 2007 this team fought with it's own forces a glorious fight in one of the most corrupt football championships in the world. It was a hard fight, which we, the people from Timisoara, know the best.
On one side, a bohemic football club, made mostly from students, on the other side the Security, the Militia, the Army, and after 1990, the ones who benefit of the comunist regim. Nor defeats, nor the pressures, nor the relegations could stop them. Every abuse brought on the stands of the stadium from Timisoara one hundred more
more supporters. And we won !
At exactly 17 years away from another calling to normality this town made, Timisoara is sick of it all. It's sick of it's name being dragged through the mud by people whose high positions are due to coruption and bribe. It's sick of a city simbol being mocked by bad-intended foreigners. It's sick of definitive ruling of Romanian justice being ignored for 4 years by corrupted officials. It's sick of Politehnica Timisoara being the object of irony from people who are not worthy even to say it's name. This being said, on 17th of March 2007, the people from Timisoara are called once again to say: "WE HAD ENOUGH !"
From 15:30, on the Dan Paltinisanu stadium...After the game, in the march that will take place from the stadium to the center of the town. To the protest organized by the supporters. With a white-purple flag in our hands, we will show the whole world that these colors and this team will always belong to Timisoara, where the Politehnica University is. AND WILL STAY HERE !
